This brand new 18 ACR alternator has the European termination consisting of 2 large and 1 small terminal, which was a standard fitment on MGB's from 1969 onwards. However, it can also be fitted to earlier negative earth MGB's by changing the connection plug, and a kit is available separately to do this at an additional cost of £3.43 exc vat.

It is also suitable for fitment to all Midgets from 1972 onwards and can be used on earlier negative earth Midgets and Sprites as part of an alternator conversion (further parts are required to complete this which are available in an auxillary fitting kit bek099 at a cost of £28.09 exc vat).

Although supplied as a replacement to the Lucas original, which produced 45 amps, this unit is capable of producing closer to 60 amps if required, making it better suited to meet the demands of brighter headlamps and other non standard electrical components which may be fitted to your vehicle.
